CSC 261 - Artificial Intelligence - Weinman
Answer the following questions. Record your answers in your Reading
Journal.
- Give an example of a problem for which a model-based reflex
agent might be more appropriate than a goal-based agent.
Briefly (3-5 sentences) explain, including why a model-based reflex
agent is sufficient and a goal-based agent is inappropriate.
- Suppose you have a colleague (who hasn't taken AI) that is only interested
in goal-based agents able to identify solutions and produce
them by their actions. In your own words, how would you begin
to explain to your colleague the advantage of utility-based
agents?
- Select one sentence from the reading that best illustrates
the difference between an agent's performance measure and utility
function. Briefly (3-5 sentences) explain why you chose this sentence.
- Figure 2.15 (p. 55) decomposes a learning agent into four major
